3D printing post-processing process —— Dyeing Process
The dyeing process is mainly to make the 3D printed parts have a better appearance effect
through painting, fine coloring, dip-dyeing and other treatment methods.
● Painting
It is one of the main coloring processes of current 3D printing products. Because of the high degree of paint adhesion, its scope of application is relatively wide. In terms of color gloss, affected by the original mirror surface of the product, the gloss is second only to the effect of electroplating and nano-plating.
● Fine coloring
Fine coloring can be used to carry out in-depth depiction from the direction of surface texture such as emphasis on details, texture, layering and aging (increasing the sense of the times), suggesting visual sense and artistry, and special parts may also be added to the practicality of the finished product; the color can be changed Complicated, overlapping colors, over-dyeing, imitation copper, camouflage, gradients, transitions, etc., the production logic is complex, generally with special material performance, the outline of the color block is smooth and jagged, suitable for customers with high requirements on color and texture. Applications include high-precision figures, display models, restoration and reproduction of cultural relics, 3D portraits, etc.
● Infection
As one of the coloring processes of 3D printing products, it is only applicable to nylon materials. In terms of color diversity, pure color dip dyeing is relatively dark and monochromatic. And the glossiness is the lowest compared to other types. Although limited by materials and colors, the production cycle is short, and the coloring effect can be completed in 30 minutes. Dip-dyeing and coloring are more costly than pure handwork and spray painting. The appearance of the final product is average, but the materials and colors are limited.
Advantage | Disadvantage |
---|---|
Enhanced the look and feel of the part | Relatively time-consuming |
Provides a smooth surface | Relatively high cost |
Applicable to almost all printed parts | There are certain requirements for the technical ability of processing engineers |
